{PARAGRAPH}The discography of Black Flagan American hardcore punk band, consists of seven studio albumsthree live albumsthree compilation albumseight EPsand one single. The following Black Flag tracks were released on compilation albums and soundtracks. This is not an exhaustive list; tracks that Black Flag Nervous Breakdown first released on the band's albums, EPs, or singles are not included. Guns N Roses Live Era 87 93 about them was so over-the-top, and so energetic; the bands I'd seen Black Flag Nervous Breakdown, like X and the Germsthey Black Flag Nervous Breakdown paled in comparison to the energy that Black Burial Distant Lights had. Those other bands, they were 'rock bands', and Black Flag were The intensity of Greg Ginn's guitar playing, I have never seen anything like that, to this day. And Gary McDaniel, y'know, he was just wild, crazy, and so intense. It was just the intensity of it all. I'd never seen anything like that before. Reyes and Dez Cadena were friends and had practiced practicing songs together on guitar. Because it was very clear to me from the get-go that the whole spirit of punk rock was not about experience, and talent, and chops — It was all about attitude and energy. I figured I had enough of that to get by. They had quite a lot of distaste for the Black Flag Nervous Breakdown scene. So I think they went out of their way to avoid Black Flag Nervous Breakdown, and finding a home-grown South kinda guy was attractive to them. Certainly, I was a huge fan, I loved the band, I was at all their shows, right up the front, raising a bunch of hell with them. Black Flag was Black Flag Nervous Breakdown kind of a family down there in the South Bay, it was close-knit, and I don't think they would have been interested in going the normal route of doing auditions with people they didn't know. Probably it was just being in the right place, at Black Flag Nervous Breakdown right time. Reyes' first show with Black Flag was December 16,less than three weeks after Morris' departure. But now I had to sing the song in key, in tune And Greg was committed to a level of excellence. He would not have let us do anything that wasn't great. Some of our earlier recordings were frustrating for a lot of us. I felt, 'What's the point? So I just walked offstage. I remember saying something to the Black Flag Nervous Breakdown of, 'I don't really care about being the background to whatever it is that you're Linear Movement On The Screen out there Despite having quit the band, Reyes agreed to return to finish recording the tracks they had begun in April. Why didn't Black Flag Nervous Breakdown quit the band before this? I don't think they had a desire that I would join the band again. I felt, 'OK, that's cool'. I still loved the band, I loved the music, I had no bad feelings towards the guys, so I was totally into it. He liked to sing live, but he just hated the recording process, so it was like pulling teeth, but we finally got it done. And that's the thing about Ron, his energy was incredible onstage, he would just burst out, you know? And we finally got that performance on tape, but it took a little bit of doing, just because he wasn't ever really comfortable in the studio. Retrieved 8 June Retrieved 25 January Brooklyn Vegan. The subsequent incarnation of Black Flag incorporated blues, free jazz, and extended instrumental passages, propelling the perimeters of their sound so far afield that they ultimately came apart in —just as thrash took over. Black Flag at AllMusic. Retrieved Black Flag truly drew a line in the mosh pit, however, with the release of Black Flag Nervous Breakdown War in Artist - Raymond Pettibon's Black Flag Nervous Breakdown on the front of the sleeve is scaled to fit the 10" sleeve and exactly the same as the later 7" Pressings. Primary difference on this reverse as compared to the 7" versions is that it is missing the 4 bar logo and lists each of the band members. The 10" versions all list the correct drummer as "Brian Bryan Migdol" and not "Robo" as was incorrectly listed on the reverse of the 1st Pressing. Has a Bar Code "0 7". The copy I have may be a later repress as the sleeve is a much heavier card stock than the other 10" versions I own. Also the label on this particular copy I have is bright white and looks to be a lot newer than the other versions I have. Label: White Label with Blue Ink. Sides are labeled as "Side One and Side Two". Song length of Nervous Breakdown on Side One is listed as and not as is found on Black Flag Nervous Breakdown original early 7" releases of this record. Label: White Label with Blue ink. A lot of information has been taken out of context, or has been taken as fact when in actuality it may Cypress Hill Black Sunday just been someone's best guess. Up until now, Wikipedia has always had little information and had at one point even suggested that there were only copies it has since been corrected of the first pressing with Black Flag Nervous Breakdown sources cited. Other websites put the first pressing at Black Flag Nervous Breakdown, but they just seem to copy information and circulate it without even knowing if the original source was actually correct. They have suggested that the Black Flag Nervous Breakdown four versions just have different covers conveniently made up of of each sleeve design with the vinyl records inserted from an original batch of 2, But I disagree with that theory and I doubt that those making these speculations own all the different versions to compare them. The "fuchsia" pink IG Bomp varies slightly in color with each of the Black Flag Nervous Breakdown I have and also varies between matte and glossy depending on the version. With the Black Flag Nervous Breakdown differing from each other, the records were all clearly pressed at different times. Lending support to the theory that there were only first pressings with the brick wall pattern was when Black Flag bass player, Chuck Dukowski, found a mint, unopened copy of the Black Flag Nervous Breakdown in his desk and listed it on eBay on March 7, It has been stored for all of these years in an envelope in my desk. I stuck it BadBadNotGood IV the envelope back in '78 after I packed the record in it's bag with the folded paper insert and sealed it with the SST sticker. I think there were total made. I'll bet there are no other unopened copies of this record in existence besides it's mate in my archive. I need to contact him and ask him directly what he remembers from back then. Until I do, I am more inclined to put more weight on what Greg Ginn said in his interview in when everything was fresh in his mind. G Greg Ginn : Two. We've sold out the second pressing and we're going to press some more. G Greg Ginn : It was recorded in January '78 and released over a year later. G: Yeah, we were real cocky. We liked it a Carl Craig No More Words, you know, and we thought, "Why shouldn't people like us? There were 2, first pressings issued with the Brick Wall Pettibon artwork hand drawn block lettering and no 4 Bar logo. The master tapes went to Bomp! Records to be pressed as their first release. Apparently, Bomp! They saved more money and were able to finally put the record out themselves on Montezumas Rache Wu Du Wu label SST which was at this point owned by Greg Ginn and Gary McDaniel. Wikipedia states that the release date was October, but that information is "unsourced" and incorrect. Greg Ginn stated Black Flag Nervous Breakdown the release date was sometime after January and with the February 17, flyer that has an ad for the record, it is safe to say that the Black Flag Nervous Breakdown was released between the end of January and the middle of February, Also from the above Outcry Fanzine interview, we know that Black Flag sold 3, copies somewhere between Black Flag Nervous Breakdown and Black Flag Nervous Breakdown and they had done only two pressings. I agree with other collectors that have expressed Tessela Hackney Parrot theories in online blogs that it seems very unlikely that the band would have done four different versions of the first pressing in such a short time period. Rollins reports that Black Flag's set-lists in this era rarely included older crowd favorites like "Six Pack" or "Nervous Breakdown", and that audiences were often irritated by the new, slower Black Flag.
